The Role

As the Sr. Revenue Accounting Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in driving optimal financial outcomes that align to the Company’s financial initiatives and ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards and company policy. Your responsibilities will span various areas, including sales contracts, pricing, analytics, and operational processes as it relates to revenue. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive revenue-related initiatives and maintain data integrity within the ERP system.

What You’ll Do

Sales Contract Management

  • Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Revenue Operations teams to advise & assess deal structure, pricing, and contract terms for revenue impact, such as:
    • Custom license agreements
    • Non-standard terms (term for convenience, government funding clauses, MFNs, return rights, warranties, SLAs, etc )
    • Pricing Guarantees
    • Future Rights (upgrade rights, new prod releases, etc)
  • Create content around non-standard revenue deals to be shared with the business as part of the Revenue Center of Excellence to be shared with the general business

Operational Advisory

  • Participate and advise the business in discussions related to new programs, products, systems, and processes as they relate and impact GAAP revenue
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as, Sales, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, FP&A, Quote to Cash, Legal, Product Management, Professional Services, etc. to drive process improvements and enhance revenue related operations
  • Monitor data integrity across systems that feed into the ERP that impact revenue
  • Drive and document all ERP improvements as it relates to revenue accounting operations

Financial Modeling and Analysis

  • Create models to analyze revenue trends, deferred revenue, and unbilled accounts receivable.
  • Provide valuable, tailored insights into revenue performance to various business areas such as Accounting Leadership, FP&A, Revenue Operations, and Sales
  • Partner with Revenue Accounting Management & the Technical Accounting Manager to stay informed about current revenue recognition rules (e.g., ASC 606) and apply them effectively.
  • Partner with the Revenue Accounting Management to ensure alignment between financial models and GAAP revenue recognition.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analytics (advanced Excel skills at a minimum)
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and tools.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (e.g., ASC 606)
  • CPA certification or relevant Professional qualifications
  • Prior experience in SaaS or technology companies
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and industry trends
  • Experience using data analytics software (Power BI, Power Queries, Power Pivot, Alteryx, etc)
