Your Impact

As Privacy Manager – Privacy by Design, you will play a critical part in shaping Axon's privacy posture in strengthening our Privacy by Design program and ensuring we continue to build products with privacy at top-of-mind. You will assess our products for privacy compliance, build relationships with key product and engineering stakeholders, and collaborate with your colleagues on the Privacy team to manage privacy risks for product launches. You will be the advocate of these best practices to foster a culture of privacy and act as a force-multiplier within the organization.

What You’ll Do

Location: Remotely from United States
Reports to: Director, Global Head of Privacy
Direct Reports: 0

• Lead privacy reviews for product launches, including performing DPIAs and creating data flow diagrams as needed.
• Scale our Privacy by Design program to ensure ongoing integration with Axon’s SDLC, providing timely and appropriate coverage for privacy reviews.
• Work side-by-side with legal, customer support, and other Privacy team members to address products privacy concerns.
• Be a critical resource for our products and engineering teams, advising them on privacy and data protection matters regarding their products.
• Contribute to the general Privacy program as needed.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Expertise on privacy and data protection matters
• Experience working cross functionally with legal, sales, product, operations.
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in performing privacy reviews for complex products
• Strong understanding and background on cloud-based software and services

Preferred Qualifications

• Passionate about privacy and data protection; involved in the privacy community.
• Experience in the public sector, in particular with law enforcement agencies and judicial bodies.
• Familiar with industry privacy standards, such as NIST Privacy Framework, ISO 27701
• Experience with AI Governance.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 120,800 in the lowest geographic market and USD 181,200 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
