Senior Mechanical Engineer

6 month Umbrella company contract

Are you a skilled Principal or Senior Mechanical Engineer with a passion for delivering cutting-edge solutions in a highly regulated industry? We are looking for an experienced calculation and design checker to check detailed design calculations for mechanical and structural designs. If you thrive in a dynamic, problem-solving environment, this role is for you!

Your missions:

🎯 Manage the development, review, and checking of technical documentation, including verification of detailed design drawings, calculations, and compliance documentation.

🎯 Work with Autodesk Inventor, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and FEA tools.

Qualifications

BEng (2:1 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

💡 Proven experience in mechanical engineering within a highly regulated sector.

💡 Strong Knowledge of design for fabrication, welding and manufacturing tolerancing. Specification of heavy industry design experience such as offshore, oil and gas, construction equipment, or similar

💡 Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering principles, including mechanical handling, design for manufacture and machinery design.

💡 Experience with MathCAD and FEA software (ANSYS, STAAD).

💡 Experience with Eurocode 3, BS EN 13001, BS EN 13155 or similar crane related standards is desirable.

💡 Experience with hydraulics and control systems is desirable.
