Paragon is seeking a Database Developer as we continue to grow our team. Database Developers design, implement and maintain data processing with respect to data loading, validations checks, and reorganization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Requirements gathering: Work with stakeholders (clients/internal team) to understand the requirements of the data migration project, including the data that needs to be migrated, the format of the data, and the desired outcome.
- Develop ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes for new customers
- Data extraction: Extract the data (various formats) from the source system and prepare it for migration to the target system. This may involve cleaning and transforming the data, as well as handling any data conflicts. Tools used: SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Data analysis – Reviews/Validates the data for consistency and completeness.
- Data mapping: Develop documentation that map relationships between the data in the source and target systems and define how the data will be transformed and migrated from one system to the other.
- Data loading: Load the data into the target system and ensure that the data is properly formatted and integrated with the target system.
- Data testing: Test the data to ensure that it has been accurately and completely migrated, and that it meets the requirements of the project.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve any issues that arise during the data load process, such as data errors or performance issues.
- Performance optimization: Ensure that the data load process is optimized for performance, and that the target system is able to handle the volume of data being loaded.
- Maintain access and permission of database users
- Write Structured Query Language (SQL) and SOQL (Salesforce) commands, extended stored procedures and SSIS packages to access/transfer data in and out of the database
- Diagnose system problems relating to database system and operating system of database
- Tune database to achieve optimum performance in access methods
- Document database, backup, and security to Information Systems standards
- Process day-to-day database change requests
- Troubleshoot existing code base for home grown applications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of SQL Server programming experience
- Ability to work in all phases of database management
- Proficiency using Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL), PowerShell, MS SQL Server Database (2016 to current)
- Setting up/upgrading SQL Server
- Knowledge of SOQL syntax for Salesforce and using tools like DBAmp (CData) to extract Salesforce data via SQL Server.
- Knowledge of insurance industry terminology a plus
- $60,000 - $70,000 per year (DOE)
