For the expansion of our Global Security & Compliance team, covering cybersecurity and eCompliance globally, argenx is looking for a Security Education and Awareness Lead.

PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

argenx is seeking a Security Awareness, Education & Communication lead to own and evolve the global cybersecurity awareness and education capability, defining strategy and driving enterprise-wide initiatives that strengthen argenx’s security culture.

This role is central to strengthening argenx’s security culture by empowering all employees—across all functions and geographies—to understand and apply secure behaviors. The ideal candidate combines strong communication and program management skills with a passion for education, behavioral change, and cybersecurity risk reduction. This role also manages cybersecurity-related communication channels, ensuring clear, consistent, and compelling messaging about the Digital Technology (DT) Security and Compliance team to both internal and external audiences.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Awareness & Education Program

  • Define and lead the execution of a multi-year global cybersecurity awareness and education strategy, aligned with enterprise cybersecurity priorities and argenx’s evolving risk landscape.
  • Manage and optimize the enterprise-wide online security training program, including platform management, course selection, mandatory learning assignments, tracking, and reporting.
  • Plan and run simulated phishing campaigns, analyze results, identify risk trends, and develop targeted education for vulnerable groups.
  • Design and deliver on-site and virtual educational initiatives, such as workshops, presentations, “lunch & learn” sessions, and security roadshows.
  • Lead the annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign, including concept design, content development, event coordination, and global communication.
  • Create and distribute short, engaging educational messages (videos, infographics, newsletters, microlearning content).
  • Develop and implement tailored training programs for high-risk populations, including senior leadership, the Board, privileged IT administrators, and software developers.
  • Lead and develop a small global team of security awareness specialists, while overseeing external content creation partners and training vendors.Manage relationships with content creation agencies, training vendors, and communication partners, ensuring high-quality, on-brand deliverables.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of security awareness initiatives, using KPIs, behavioral indicators, phishing metrics, and employee engagement data.
  • Continuously improve the program based on metrics, emerging threats, industry standards, and changing organizational needs.

Cybersecurity Communication & Knowledge Management

  • Own and maintain internal cybersecurity communication channels, ensuring they are clear, accessible, and regularly updated.
  • Manage the cybersecurity team’s internal communication space, including documentation structure, content updates, and user experience.
  • Support the creation of an effective external-facing identity for the cybersecurity team, such as web content, presentations, and thought‑leadership materials.
  • Collaborate with internal communications to ensure consistent cybersecurity messaging across the organization.
  • Prepare communication kits for security initiatives, incident-related guidance (non‑technical), and company-wide announcements.
  • Build communication frameworks that help explain the cybersecurity team’s services, capabilities, processes, and value to argenx employees.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • 6–10 years of experience leading communication, education, organizational change, or cybersecurity awareness programs in complex global organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, setting priorities, securing stakeholder alignment, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, human cyber risk, and common threat patterns, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Proven experience defining and driving multi-year awareness, education, or communication strategies that influence organizational behavior and risk awareness.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, run, and evaluate large-scale awareness campaigns—ideally including phishing simulations, microlearning, and targeted education initiatives.
  • Experience developing content in co-creation (writing, scripting, visuals) and managing deliverables produced by content creation agencies.
  • Strong storytelling, messaging, and copywriting skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for education and behavior change.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, global environment.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks (Security, IT, HR, Internal Communications, Legal, Development teams).
  • Experience building or scaling enterprise awareness, education, or behavioral change programs.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual global environment.
  • Is agile and demonstrates adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience.
  • Derives energy from operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-moving, and frequently changing business environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with project management, proactive planning, priority setting, and securing alignment.
  • Drives toward outcomes.
  • Ambitious, inquisitive naturally, a quick study, with demonstrated eagerness to continuously learn, self-improve and develop. This includes being comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a diverse environment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Education, Marketing, Organizational Psychology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Relevant certifications or training (a plus, not required):

  • SANS Security Awareness Professional (SSAP)
  • Certified Security Awareness Practitioner (CSAP)
  • Certifications in adult learning, change management, or cybersecurity fundamentals

Healthcare, biotech, or highly regulated industry experience is a plus.

OTHER

For this role, you will travel approximately 20% of your time. This includes visits to our headquarters in Ghent, Belgium and other argenx offices worldwide, as well as attendance at conferences or other relevant events.

Candidates must be based in Belgium or Switzerland.
