Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Senior Data Scientist. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work across our client engagements, providing expertise in evaluation design and methodology, data collection, data analysis, data mapping, data profiling, data mining, data modeling, and data visualization. This person will provide subject matter expertise and guidance within our Health Services Group to architect data science solutions on client networks, on the cloud using AWS, or through the Azure data science services for solutions delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Apply broad understanding of the principles of computer and information science to the advancement of life sciences, public health, and care delivery
  • Work on unusually complex evaluation problems and provide highly innovative solutions for proposing to government clients.
  • Lead teams of data analysts on major pursuits under multiple contract vehicles; mentor or supervise employees in both firm and technical competencies.
  • Develop and/or oversee customized evaluation and validation frameworks for current and future work in the health space
  • Identify, create, and curate training material and datasets for building the evaluation competency among junior team members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics (or related)
  • 10 years professional experience in healthcare and/or Federal government programs data science, data mining, data analysis, business process analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics and predictive modeling, data management, integration, and interoperability, strategic analysis, critical path problem solving, stakeholder engagement, team building
  • Prior experience with metadata management to include meta-tagging
  • Previous experience working in an Agile Team setting and using Agile management tools such as Jira
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods to include classification, collaborative filtering, association rules, sentiment analysis, topic modeling, time-series analysis, regression, statistical inference, and/or validation methods

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with government clients such as Dept. of Defense (DoD), Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA), or The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Ability to conduct data profiling and predictive analysis using a variety of standard tools
  • Ability to provide oversight on work related to data visualization tools and methodologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from software engineers and clients to team members
  • Ability to uncover data-driven insights using statistical analysis or predictive analytics
