Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced Project Manager to lead Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Issue Resolution efforts under our Rapid Decision Making Contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is responsible for identifying and resolving program-level issues across the EHRM ecosystem and driving forward scalable, enterprise-level solutions that improve issue resolution management processes at VA medical facilities, regional networks, and within the CPMO program.
The Project Manager will be expected to apply strong consulting experience, user-centered thinking, and a strategic lens to modernize and operationalize issue resolution management processes. This includes conducting discovery, identifying systemic challenges, developing actionable solutions (e.g., project plans, wireframes, presentations), and overseeing implementation across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. The qualified candidate must have proven problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
Primary Responsibilities
- Rapidly assess current-state processes and practices and identify program-wide bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or structural gaps – and actively work to problem-solve.
- Lead discovery efforts to analyze root causes of recurring program inefficiencies and develop solutions and courses of action (CoAs), conduct stakeholder workshops, and work with data analysts to achieve solutions that are data-driven.
- Apply customer experience (CX) and user interface/user experience (UI/UX) principles to design and recommend solutions to current-state problems, and future-state processes and tools.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans to implement improvements across CPMO and VHA.
- Support the implementation of issue resolution processes and future-state operational frameworks that enhance local and national issue resolution capabilities.
- Coordinate across internal and external teams to ensure stakeholder alignment and timely delivery of outcomes.
- Produce high-quality, executive-ready deliverables such as MOAs, CoAs, Concepts of Operations, Project Plans, Strategic Plans, Business Rules, SOPs, and leadership presentations.
- Monitor risks, dependencies, and performance metrics while adapting plans as needed to maintain momentum and stakeholder satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, SAFe, HCD, CX) are preferred.
- Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, particularly in EHRM or related modernization efforts, is highly desirable.
- 6+ years of proven problem-solving experience as a consulting project manager, ideally supporting complex federal programs or healthcare transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead discovery efforts and design solutions to systemic challenges.
- Great to Have - Expertise in CX, UI/UX design, or human-centered design methodologies applied in digital or operational contexts.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to craft and present compelling visual and written products.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe, and tools like JIRA, Mural and Lean Six.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
