The Role

The IT Accreditation Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Digital & Technology systems and infrastructure meet the necessary accreditation requirements and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. This position requires a strong technical background in IT security and accreditation processes, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of security controls and measures to mitigate identified risks and enhance the security posture of Digital & Technology systems.
  • Monitor and analyse security events and incidents and collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and resolve security breaches or violations.
  • Ensure all Incidents, Problems, Projects, Service and Change Requests are accurately captured in the APM Ticketing System and kept up to date with frequent updates.
  • Participate in security testing and evaluation activities, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security audits.
  • Conduct risk assessments and security evaluations to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Skills you’ll bring.

    • 5 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer, in Microsoft / Azure Stack, with a solid understanding of security principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g. ISM, ISO Essential 8).
    • In Depth knowledge of the Azure Stack, including automation techniques (IaaC)
    • Experience with security assessment and accreditation processes, including familiarity with RMF, ISO 31000, or similar frameworks.
    • Proficiency in conducting security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing using industry-standard tools and techniques.
    • Strong technical skills in areas such as network security, system hardening, encryption, and secure coding practices.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with cloud security and emerging technologies is a plus.
    • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements (e.g.Right Fit for Risk, ASD ISM, Essential 8, ISO 270001) is desirable.
    • Compliance requirements : Must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanenet Resident.
