Apartment Therapy was originally launched in 2001 by interior designer Maxwell Ryan (nicknamed “The Apartment Therapist”) as a weekly newsletter for clients. We officially became an independently-owned company in 2004, and since then Apartment Therapy Media has grown to become the only media group dedicated to life at home. We are committed to teaching our audience real-life solutions by giving them tools to create happy, healthy homes through our award-winning brands: Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Cubby, and Dorm Therapy. Together, our portfolio engages a monthly audience of 47 million users across platforms, while our dedicated team of over 140 professionals collaborates from our sunny New York City office and locations across the U.S. and around the globe.

The Creative Team at Apartment Therapy Media brings our editorial stories to life across Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Cubby, and Dorm Therapy. We collaborate closely with teams across the organization to create work that is engaging, useful, and visually distinctive.

We’re looking for a collaborative Editorial Designer to join our team. This is a tactical design role with opportunities to grow into more strategic design work.

What You’ll Do

  • Design editorial and social graphics for site and social platforms, including templated and original creative
  • Maintain and update templates, keeping content consistent and scalable across brands
  • Partner with the Editorial Operations team to ensure templates are current
  • Support the Creative Team on features, packages, and tentpole projects
  • Assist in sourcing and coordinating illustrators for editorial stories

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience as a graphic designer in digital media
  • Strong portfolio showing composition, typography, color, and editorial storytelling
  • Experience working with template systems for scalable editorial and social content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; experience in Figma strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and implement feedback effectively
  • Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • Positive, proactive attitude that contributes to a supportive and creative team environment

Salary Range: $75,000 - 80,000 annually

The above represents the expected salary range for this role. Ultimately, compensation is determined by level of experience and other job-related factors.
