We are seeking a results-driven Cloud Solutions Architect to play a leading role in the design, modernization, and governance of Azure-based platforms. This individual will be instrumental in advancing our cloud strategy—driving migrations, influencing architectural direction, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, action-oriented self-starter who takes initiative, operates with minimal oversight, and partners closely with stakeholders to move work forward. This is a remote position, with preference for candidates located in the New Jersey or New York areas, though candidates in other locations are welcome to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define Azure landing zones, reference architectures, and guardrails aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Well-Architected Framework.

  • Lead migrations and application modernization (IaaS → PaaS), including AKS, App Services, Functions, serverless data, and event-driven architectures.

  • Establish governance frameworks for security, compliance, cost (FinOps), and operational best practices across subscriptions and tenants.

  • Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) delivery using Bicep or Terraform; automate CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

  • Architect secure network topologies including vWAN, hub-and-spoke, private endpoints, Private DNS, and ExpressRoute/VPN.

  • Implement identity, access, and Zero Trust patterns using Entra ID, PIM, and conditional access.

  • Ensure reliability through HA/DR, backup, monitoring, and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with squads, pre-sales teams, and executives through workshops and RFP responses.

MIMINUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years in cloud architecture with deep, hands-on Azure experience.

  • 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary solution design across applications, data, security, and platform services.

  • Proven track record owning large-scale programs spanning legacy and cloud deployments.

  • Expertise in end-to-end solution design across compute, storage, networking, and data services.

  • Experience architecting highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant Azure solutions.

  • Leadership experience guiding DevOps teams and implementing automation and platform engineering practices.

  • Ability to establish clear standards, patterns, and design reviews for other architects and engineers.

  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and cloud network architecture principles.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Jenkins.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and diverse stakeholders.

  • Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias for measurable outcomes.

  • Relevant certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred), Azure Security Engineer, TOGAF or ITIL a plus.

PAY RANGE
