The Associate Vice President of Communications supports enterprise communications initiatives in alignment with the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, and regulatory environment. This role leads teams responsible for social media and digital assets, communications initiatives, public relations, ESG-related communications, and other related areas as needed.The Associate Vice President reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and works in close coordination with the Corporate Vice President of Communications, as well as executive leadership and members of the C-suite as appropriate, to ensure consistent, clear, and compliant messaging across the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of communications strategies aligned with organizational priorities and brand positioning.
- Coordinate executive messaging and organizational communications as needed.
- Oversee communications platforms and channels, including digital and social media assets and other communication vehicles.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Human Resources, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and operational leaders to support enterprise communications initiatives.
- Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to support communications related to regulatory requirements, including those impacting Medicare Advantage operations.
- Support public relations and stakeholder communications, including coordination with media and external partners when appropriate.
- Assist with communication planning during periods of organizational change, key initiatives, or operational developments.
- Ensure consistency of messaging across communication channels and audiences.
- Support measurement and monitoring of communications initiatives to evaluate effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop communications staff responsible for internal communications, public relations, social media, and related communications functions.
- Internal communications and public relations staff report directly to the Associate Vice President of Communications.
- Promote strong leadership discipline, accountability, and professional standards across communications teams, including maintaining appropriate office presence and work schedules as required to support business needs.
- Support communication planning and coordination during critical organizational events or situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and oversight for assigned staff, including recruiting, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
Experience, Education, and Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 10+ years of progressive communications experience.
- 7+ years in leadership roles overseeing communications initiatives or teams.
- Experience in healthcare, managed care, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting communications in complex or rapidly evolving organizations.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as required to support organizational initiatives, leadership engagement, and market needs.

Pay Range: $172,364.00 - $258,547.00Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
