As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are how you will build customer success.
Your Role:
You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent GC and GC-MS systems. Our varied product lines include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems.
Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
Performs maintenance and repairs.
Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
Delivers fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.
Trains other field engineers and customers on the solutions.
Territory:
The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance of Long Island. Locations such as: NYC, Melville, NY, or Hauppauge, NY.
Visiting customer sites daily, commuting in and around Long Island, NY.
The position requires an active driver's license,
Company Vehicle Program: Either vehicle mileage reimbursement or a company car is eligible for this territory.
Territory: the NJ Area /NY Metro District, coveringNorthernNJ-NY-CT.
Job Requirement: Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to: post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer-requested screening is a requirement of this position.
Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or other university-level degrees within the science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology) are highly preferred. Applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
At least 1-2+ years of relevant experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting.
Experience or expertise with Chromatography (GC/LC) and Mass Spectrometry (GCMS/LCMS).
Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability; typically system/solution-focused.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential.
