Job Description

Agilent is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to join our Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) organization as Associate Vice President of Regulatory Policy, Intelligence, and Operations (AVP of RIO). Reporting directly to the Vice President of GRA, this role leads a high-impact team of regulatory professionals responsible for advancing global regulatory intelligence, driving strategic external engagement, and optimizing regulatory processes across Agilent’s business divisions.

This leader will play a critical role in shaping Agilent’s regulatory and compliance strategies by monitoring global regulatory developments, translating complex data into actionable policies, and ensuring enterprise-wide alignment with evolving regulatory expectations. As a key member of the GRA leadership team, the AVP of RIO will influence cross-functional decision-making and represent Agilent in senior level regulatory and business forums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead proactive surveillance of the global regulatory landscape to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Compile and communicate critical regulatory developments and emerging trends via an internal newsletter targeted to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Translate complex regulatory developments into clear, actionable policies and strategic guidance aligned with business goals.

  • Oversee the enhancement and governance of core regulatory systems and processes, including promotional review of marketing content and regulatory information management tools.

  • Direct the development and execution of Agilent’s regulatory advocacy strategy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Represent GRA and the broader Global Quality and Regulatory Affairs (GQRA) organization in enterprise-wide initiatives to comply with new regulations, driving cross-functional alignment and influencing organizational direction.

  • Support audits and inspections as needed, providing expert guidance and strategic leadership.

  • Manage departmental resources and budget to support strategic objectives and operational excellence.

  • Lead and mentor a team of regulatory professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, engagement, and inclusion.

Role expectations

  • Drive continuous improvement of regulatory processes and tools across departments, including regulatory intelligence, external engagement, and ad promo review.

  • Engage directly with regulatory agencies, industry consortia, and policy forums to advance Agilent’s regulatory interests.

  • Conduct timely regulatory research and intelligence, offering risk assessments and scenario-based recommendations.

  • Collaborate closely with GRA and GQRA leadership to align regulatory objectives with enterprise priorities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences; advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years in regulatory affairs leadership roles with increasing responsibility.

  • Proven experience in global regulatory policy, intelligence, and advocacy within a highly regulated industry.

  • In vitro diagnostic (IVD) experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with chemical, biological, environmental, and electrical equipment/instrumentation regulations.

  • Deep understanding of Agilent’s markets, products, and customer needs.

  • Demonstrated success leading diverse, global teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least November 10, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $181,200.00 - $302,944.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
