Job Summary:
Working with stakeholders across Corporate Communications & Events, Investor Relations, and Corporate Sustainability, the Communications Manager, Design Lead is responsible for creating engaging and impactful visual content for Acuity Brands associate and external audiences.
This role will collaborate closely with various business partners to develop and execute creative concepts that align with the Company's brand identity and strategic goals. This role will use skills in graphic design, video editing, animation, and motion graphics to produce high-quality materials for various platforms, such as websites, social media, newsletters, presentations, events, corporate reports, and more. This role will also play a fundamental role in brand reputation management, developing and maintaining the Company’s corporate brand guidelines, visual identity, and templated assets.
This role reports to Senior Communications Manager – Corporate Communications.

Key Task and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Design and produce graphics and visual content for various communications materials, including social media, website, presentations, email, and print.
- Edit and produce high-quality videos for various platforms, including social media, website, presentations, email, and events.
- Support the design production of the Company’s annual ESG report.
- Collaborate with the Communications team and other teams to develop and execute creative concepts and campaigns.
- Update and maintain the Acuity brand guidelines, and ensure all visual content is consistent with the brand's visual identity and messaging.
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends and techniques.
Skills & Minimum Experience Required
- Relevant professional experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing design and video editing skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take complex information and transform it into clear, concise, and engaging visual content for associates
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, video production, or related field
- 5+years’ experience in graphic design and video editing
- Strong track record of managing branding and visual identity

The range for this position is $59,700.00 to $134,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
