The detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Associate will support our Compliance leadership team in ensuring organizational adherence to applicable U.S. laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance within the employment screening industry and is essential to the integrity and efficiency of our operations to meet, or exceed, our metrics.
The Compliance Associate will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our compliance programs. The role also serves as the primary point of contact for managing and responding to consumer requests under applicable U.S. regulations (e.g., FCRA), and ensuring all relevant licenses and certifications remain active and up to date.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for consumer-related requests or notifications, including responding to requests for procedures, deletion, expungements, and other inquiries in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Track and ensure timely renewal of private investigator and industry certifications; maintain related records.
- Manage competing priorities and deliver quality information and analysis while adhering to deadlines.
- Research and clearly document domestic compliance requirements and inquiries.
- Create and maintain internal documentation, work instructions, and processes as needed.
- Ensuring procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and complied with as documented and in accordance with applicable law.
- Prepare reports and presentations by summarizing information and metrics.
- Work closely with management to ensure that compliance-related matters are resolved and/or handled appropriately to conclusion.
- Evaluate emerging laws and regulations and their impact on the business.
- Establish, review and report on key metrics related to compliance based services and performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Paralegal or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree is preferred. Emphasis on law, compliance administration, business administration, or audit is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in background screening is preferred.
- Experience with the Fair Credit Reporting Act is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Research experience is required.
