  • Travel/Location: Must be located in the state of Florida with up to 50% travel/deployment required

Mission of Role/Position Summary:

The Jr. Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting the company and clients with special projects within their scope as a subject matter expert. As a project coordinator, this role will perform a variety of administrative tasks and project related on-site and remote support based on client needs. This is a critical role in ensuring success of our projects and client service. Each project support team member will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform.

Requirements

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and project tasks simultaneously
  • Assist Project Managers with administrative tasks as assigned
  • Work on strategic task managment to support project health
  • Communicate regularly and effectively to multiple levels of business heirarchy
  • Manage budgeting, scheduling and contract requirements as assigned
  • Keep detailed project records
  • Assess any issues or risks and report to project manager or appropriate stakeholder
  • Assist the PMO office with development of project management documents and client reporting
  • Execute project management tasks and courses of action where applicable.
  • Assign tasks to other project team members to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Be the liaison between project team and project clients through project lifecycle
  • Become knowledgeable and proficient with all project management principals and lifecycle activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including a qualitative and quantitative skill set.
  • Strong data analytical skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Beginner level knowledge of full scope Emergency Management protocols and familiarity with state and local plans, agencies, and funding sources is necessary.
  • Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong desire to help people.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt quickly to changes in roles and projects.

Experience and Education Required

  • 1-3+ years’ beginner level knowledge/experience in various emergency management functions.
  • 1-3+ years' Intermediate level customer service experience
  • 1-3 years' Intermediate level project management/project support experience
  • Beginner to intermediate level knowledge and/or experience in at least one Emergency Management discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.

Experience and Education Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Equivalency: Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
  • 2+ years emergency management project management experience.
  • At least one year consulting experience.
  • Familiarity with PMP (Project Management Professional) principles/training or certification.
  • Experience with SmartSheet, Salesforce, and/or PowerBi experience strongly preferred.
  • Lean Methodology experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role has no direct supervisory responsibility, but may supervise team members on projects.

Expected Hours of Work

Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for prolonged periods of time.

Physical Demands

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Work Environment

  • Jr. Project Coordinator may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
  • All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
  • If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
