What You’ll Work On
Responsible for the leadership direction and management of the Project Management Office (PMO).
- This position develops and executes strategies for directing programs,project management leaders,and cross functional front line instrument, assay, automation,and informatics resources necessary to ensure:
- Superior instrument and automation implementation support to the satisfaction of US customers and clients
- Compliance with regulatory requirements for both Quality Systems Regulations and Financial Ethics/Compliance laws
- Optimal resource planning, utilization and justification for successful implementations
Primary Functional responsibilities include:
- PMO staffing,training, development and retention of highly skilled project managers that manage customer-facing projects with various levels of difficulty and wide range of customer differentiation.
- Project leadership and strategic direction for the PMO,field service,technical support and sales teams responsible for all instrument and automation implementations
- Definition,creation and maintenance of key business processes for implementations
- Implementation of standardized project planning and control processes to ensure effective execution of projects across all channels
- Highly accountable for customer feedback/satisfaction touch point results.
- Manages to financial goals including the extended responsibility of generating revenue opportunities for sales and service offerings.
- Ensures speed to revenue objectives are aligned with project plans and enables delivery of revenue through timely project execution.
- The position provides project management support of the US Commercial organization.
- Responsible for maintaining a visual management tool to track and report status of approved projects.
- Performs analysis of active and forecasted resource needs against resource availability.
- Identifies potential problem areas and implements corrective actions. Directs business strategies and operational activities of Project Managers supporting regional sales districts across the US.
- Takes a leadership role in establishing good project management practices.
- Develops, when necessary, and tracks goals and objectives that are focused on customer satisfaction and business performance.
- Accountable for financial and process improvements.
- Maintain a highly skilled project management team capable of meeting the objectives and strategies of the business.
- Decisions and management of this position significantly impact on the division’s ability to meet reagent revenue goals.
- Sphere of influence: leadership of 5-8 certified project managers.
- This is a group of highly performing professions managing 500-600 instrument implementations and Core Lab placements per year.
Product Scope:
- Accountable for providing project management across multiple platforms, distribution channels and variation in customer size, representing approximately $ 800-1100MM in annual sales.
- Financial: accountable for department budget as well as financial performance and resource allocations.
- Develops annual plans/updates and contingency plans.
- Customer sales can be directly affected – positively or negatively – by the quality and timeliness of project timelines and deliverables provided by this organization.
Decision-making:
- Make timely project management, operational and business decisions with high risk or consequences to the business.
- Examples: (a.) lack of adherence to quality/regulatory system requirements can result in OEC regulatory action, (b.) lack of accurate and timely project planning and execution could delay customer Test or Record date and inability to purchase reagents resulting in high monetary consequences.
- Customer Relationships: cultivates relationships with internal and external customers and develops strong networks throughout the company and industry, has direct impact and influence affecting customer relationships across multiple US market segments (hospital labs, reference labs, blood banks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Sciences or related field.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVD’s and Biologics
- 5-8 yrs experience in diagnostic industry in field service, field sales, technical service or project management.
- Knowledge and direct experience in operations directly impacted by Quality Systems, cGMP requirements and high-level FDA scrutiny.
- Project/Program Management knowledge and expertise, including understanding of tools and resource utilization required to manage multiple complex projects; awareness and effective utilization of critical project management metrics and their interrelationships in impacting successful projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Technologist preferred.
- Masters degree,Project Management Certification or Lean Six Sigma Training desired.
- 5+ years of management experience preferred.
- Operations management coupled with Field Service Manager, Sales Manager, Customer Service Manager or Project Management Office experience preferred.

The base pay for this position is
$129,300.00 – $258,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
