In 1993, our founder John Rutley recognized a changing landscape in the refrigeration industry and started A-Gas in Bristol, UK. Working from his home with just a fax machine, he pioneered a new approach to refrigerant management that prioritized environmental responsibility. Over the past three decades, that vision has evolved into a global enterprise spanning 15 countries across 5 continents, with A-Gas becoming the world leader in the supply and lifecycle management of refrigerants and associated products.

Today, A-Gas continues its mission to protect and enhance the environment through first-class recovery, reclamation, and repurposing processes that prevent harmful refrigerant release into the atmosphere. Our comprehensive services include refrigerant recovery, lifecycle management, destruction and disposal, laboratory and analytical services, and cylinder tracking. We supply refrigerants, fire protection and halon products, performance chemicals, and carbon credits to customers worldwide. With our Rapid Recovery network scanning the globe and an ambitious pledge to achieve net-zero by 2035, we help businesses transition to more environmentally friendly products and processes.
