What I'm looking for
I am a biochemistry graduate with a strong academic background and practical experience in laboratory research, fieldwork, and science communication. Throughout my training, I developed a deep interest in the intersection of biology, chemistry, and technology—particularly how they can be applied to solve real-world problems in health, agriculture, and environmental conservation.
My career began with hands-on laboratory work, where I gained practical experience in diagnostic procedures such as DNA extraction, ELISA testing, blood analysis, fecal flotation, centrifugation, and post-mortems on various animal species. I had the opportunity to work under the Kenya Wildlife Service during my attachment program, where I participated in both field operations—like tick collection, giraffe translocation, and crocodile rescue—and laboratory procedures, including pathogen analysis and disease surveillance. These experiences enhanced my attention to detail, data recording accuracy, and understanding of wildlife health management and zoonotic disease control.
In addition to my technical expertise, I am a skilled science communicator with experience in academic writing and editing, particularly in biology-related topics. I’ve worked remotely as a freelance biology writer and editor, helping students and researchers translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging content. This blend of scientific literacy and communication has strengthened my ability to work cross-functionally in teams, present information effectively, and adapt to both laboratory and digital work environments.
I am particularly interested in remote roles that allow me to continue contributing to the fields of health, science, or conservation—whether through research support, science writing, data analysis, or education. I am also passionate about digital tools that support scientific innovation, and I’m eager to work with mission-driven teams that value curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
