I’m looking for a backend role where I can design event-driven, fault-tolerant systems, improve latency and reliability, and own async workflows and API performance end to end—while building strong testing and observability practices.

I’m a Backend Engineer (SDE II) with 5+ years of experience building scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems. I focus on event-driven and distributed workflow architectures to improve reliability and performance, especially in latency-sensitive flows.

In my current role, I re-architected synchronous remittance flows into async Temporal workflows with configurable retries, reducing user wait time by 45% while improving fault tolerance for failed steps. I also optimized APIs and SQL queries to cut latency by 65%, and implemented Redis distributed locking for exactly-once webhook processing.

I’ve strengthened system quality through reliable testing pipelines—using Docker-based ephemeral Kafka/Redis containers with Testcontainers and mocked third-party services for success/failure/timeout scenarios. Previously, I built a dynamic query builder with runtime schema discovery, and contributed to rule-based event-driven lead validation and loan eligibility APIs processing 100–250 applications/day.
