Vincent Sierota
@vincentsierota
Rust software engineer focused on building reliable, secure, production-grade systems with async concurrency and applied cryptography.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Rust software engineer, now fully dedicated to modern systems programming. With 15+ years delivering enterprise software, I focus on building reliable, secure, production-grade backends where correctness, fault tolerance, and maintainability matter.
Since Jan 2023, I’ve designed distributed backend systems in Rust (Tokio), with observability and reliability patterns centered on PostgreSQL. I’ve built async services for concurrent telemetry ingestion, implemented reliability mechanisms like idempotent processing and explicit error handling, and structured services with hexagonal architectures—backed by CI/CD pipelines with reproducible builds, automated testing, and static checks (fmt, clippy).

Jan 2023 - Present (3 years 4 months)
Designed and built production-grade async Rust backend services (Tokio) for concurrent telemetry ingestion, prioritizing correctness, fault tolerance, and maintainability. Implemented reliability patterns (idempotent processing, explicit error handling, deterministic async flows), health checks and configuration validation, and set up CI/CD with reproducible builds and static checks.
