Vermeire Simona
@vermeiresimona
I am a comparative literature researcher and translator, blending humanistic scholarship with sound and digital arts.
What I'm looking for
I am a comparative literature researcher with a Ph.D. background and a “Pos-Phd in Comparative Literature” at Minho University (Portugal). My work centers on “virality” and intertextuality in authors like José Saramago and Eugène Ionesco, and it extends into humanistic, theoretical, and cultural research.
Beyond academia, I build connections across languages and disciplines. I have worked as a cultural journalist, served in manager/public relations roles, and developed long-term expertise as a literary translator in French, Portuguese, and Romanian.
I also translate scholarship into public-facing experiences—through teaching, scientific seminars, and interdisciplinary artistic projects. I’ve contributed conceptual and research work for international platforms such as “the Milena principle,” and supported walking/sound practices through projects like “Walking Arts/Walking Bodies,” audio walks, and soundscape initiatives.
