Provisioned a high-stakes data platform infrastructure from the ground up and rewrote a poorly structured Terraform codebase into maintainable, production-grade modules. Mentored the Data DevOps team on cloud/IaC practices and advised data engineering on infrastructure design and roadmap priorities.

Re-architected Apache Airflow on EKS from KubernetesExecutor to CeleryExecutor, eliminating persistent task failures and timeouts, and reduced task startup time from several minutes to 1–3 seconds. Ran a POC for Amazon MWAA and recommended against migration due to service-quality risks, while owning DevOps infrastructure provisioning for data engineering workloads.

Maintained EKS and on-premises Kubernetes clusters for production workloads peaking at 150,000–180,000 concurrent users. Provisioned AWS infrastructure with reusable Terraform modules and automated deployments via GitHub Actions integrated with Ansible AWX, and evaluated Vault integration options to recommend a strategy supporting both EKS and on-prem.

Owned platform authority across production, staging, and 11 integration environments spanning thousands of servers, and mentored the DevOps engineering cohort. Led escalated infrastructure incident investigations, received a Bally’s AllStars Award for deployment delivery support, and drove platform roadmap optimization to improve engineering efficiency.

Managed 2 direct reports and served as the primary Platform IT contact for North American engineering teams. Mentored ~30 IT department members to increase autonomy within 2 months and maintained platform stability for infrastructure supporting 150,000–180,000 concurrent users in a zero-tolerance uptime environment.

Redesigned Consul deployment on Kubernetes to enable fully automatic raft recovery after pod outages, achieving 100% automatic recovery and unblocking deployments across production, staging, and integration. Handled inter-datacenter migration of critical production components with zero downtime and supported state rollouts while mentoring engineers and advising on release/deployment process improv

Rebuilt a critically broken Icinga2 monitoring setup by unifying container base images and fixing persistent storage so monitoring data was retained across restarts. Resolved WebDAV/HTTP compatibility issues via Netscaler routing, supported zero-downtime application migrations, and built Bash/Python and Ansible automation for monitoring, diagnostics, and operations.

Responded to customer and developer escalations with in-depth investigation, assisting developers by debugging staging/production environments and executing platform tasks. Wrote monitoring and alerting scripts adopted by TechOps and produced infrastructure health and status reports.

Monitored system health 24/7, responded to alerts, and escalated appropriately during production operations. Supported staging environment testing and health/problem investigations, contributing to operational health reporting.
