Sydney Porter

As a junior software developer with three years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with esteemed companies like General Electric Appliances and KYCombinator. My journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Louisville, where I honed my technical skills and developed a passion for creating innovative solutions. My experience as a software intern at General Electric Appliances allowed me to contribute to the development of top-load washers, where I implemented LED patterns to signal specific error messages, utilizing Git/GitHub for version control and adhering to Agile methodologies.

In addition to my technical expertise, I have a strong background in graphic design, which enhances my capabilities in UI/UX design. Currently, I serve as a STEM coach at BrainStem University, where I facilitate STEM learning for K–12 students. This role has further developed my adaptability and ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. I am also actively involved in projects that leverage data processing and visualization, such as designing an interactive website that visualizes population density changes in Louisville, KY, utilizing technologies like NodeJS and AWS.
