I'm looking for Linux embedded, virtualization or systems engineering roles focused on low-level debugging, secure platform maintenance and reliable production systems.
Stjepan Poljak
@stjepanpoljak
I build secure Linux platforms, kernel tooling and virtualization infrastructure for production systems.
What I'm looking for
At dSPACE, I build custom Linux kernel and QEMU/KVM solutions for virtualized environments, including tooling like deadlock diagnosis through NMI injection, memory-based communication protocols and eBPF (kprobes).
I own platform security maintenance for Linux kernel and QEMU forks, leading CVE triage, vulnerability assessment, patch integration, and secure maintenance workflows. I've also improved KVM/QEMU synchronization and virtual networking reliability through low-level debugging, refactoring and concurrency analysis.
Previously at Ericsson, I developed Linux diagnostics, stress-testing infrastructure, custom IPC and dump-collection systems for ARM-based 5G telecom environments. I maintained Yocto-based Linux distributions and investigated PreemptRT latency, kernel performance, debugged driver behavior and network security issues.
I'm especially interested in Linux internals, reverse-engineering, systems debugging, virtualization and low-level software architecture, including personal experimentation with KVM in Rust (able to boot Linux on ARM64 boards supporting virtualization) along with operating systems on ARM and x86.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Senior Systems Software Engineer
dSPACE
Sep 2022 - Present (4 years)
Designed Linux kernel and QEMU debugging mechanisms for diagnosing deadlocks in virtualized environments. Developed kernel-level synchronization and instrumentation mechanisms, and led CVE remediation workflows for Linux kernel and QEMU forks.
Linux Systems Engineer
