Sonal Mahato_ EE 37

AI/ML engineering student who built Story Copilot, a RAG writing assistant with Elasticsearch search and a 5/5 evaluation benchmark.
IndiaWhat I'm looking for
I built Story Copilot, a retrieval-augmented writing assistant that answers questions about uploaded manuscripts using only their text, and refuses unsupported questions.
I first implemented chunking, embeddings, and retrieval manually with Python and ChromaDB, then rebuilt the pipeline with LangChain and Elasticsearch vector search. I tested grounded answers and appropriate refusals with a five-question benchmark, which passed 5/5.
I connected the system to a FastAPI backend with manuscript uploads and a Streamlit interface. Along the way, I diagnosed and addressed model capability, version compatibility, and API outage issues.
As a final-year Electrical Engineering student at Asansol Engineering College, I bring a control-systems foundation to my work in AI/ML. I’m looking to build AI-powered features for authors.
