Sifonabasi Jonathan

I’m a Public Health graduate who’s highly motivated and passionate about improving the health of communities through an education-driven approach. I bring a strong, comprehensive foundation in public health and a commitment to facilitating positive change where people live and work.

In my current role as a Public Health Educator at Gateway Hospital, Uyo, I assess community health needs and develop programs that teach healthier life choices and help people avoid unhealthy habits. I connect individuals to health services and educational materials, advocate for policies that yield healthier outcomes, and design, evaluate, and distribute culturally appropriate health education materials.

I also strengthen my impact through hands-on health education delivery—interviewing adults and families, conducting education classes, and tracking client procedures and treatments. I collaborate closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to inform them about health education services available to their patients.

Earlier, as a Social and Community Service Officer at Sif Hospital, I supported direct patient care through physical exams, monitoring medical equipment, wound care, blood pressure measurement, and administering medicine and treatments. Across my training and experience, I’ve built capabilities in data management, program design and implementation, and outbreak investigation—identifying and monitoring individuals exposed to infectious diseases to help mitigate outbreaks and safeguard public health.
