Shoaib Khalid

I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Government College University, Faisalabad, where I teach GIS and Remote Sensing courses at Bachelors, Master and PhD levels. I also supervise research work and final year GIS projects, helping students turn geospatial data into credible analyses.

My academic path is grounded in Cartography and Geographic Information System research, with a PhD from Nanjing University. I bring a strong focus on spatial data modeling, mapping, and evidence-based research methods, shaped by long-term teaching experience since my work as Lecturer at the same department.

I’ve led and contributed to research projects funded by Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) under the PSDP, including “Redefining Urban Spaces” for sustainable city regeneration and work on revisiting urban immovable property valuation using big data in Punjab. Through these projects, I aim to generate practical insights for planning, valuation, and urban development.

I’m committed to professional development and knowledge exchange—I’ve served as a trainer for hands-on workshops on modern technologies, geospatial topics, and e-governance. I’m also an award-winning researcher, including the Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA) Launchpad Competition, and I actively support the growth of geospatial communities through professional memberships.
