Shane Traister

I am a Data Scientist and Analytics Leader with a decade of experience transforming complex data into actionable intelligence. My expertise lies in designing end-to-end data pipelines, statistical models, and scalable reporting solutions, and in leading small teams and cross-functional initiatives across healthcare, education, workforce, and nonprofit settings. I am committed to automating workflows, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency through advanced analytics and visualization tools.

In my current role as Program Manager IV, Workforce Strategy at Kaiser Permanente, I serve as the data engineering and automation lead for the Care at Home, DME, and Medical Transport Services lines, advising senior finance and operations leadership. I design automated data pipelines that replace manual reporting processes and preserve organizational capabilities, including patient-experience (HHCAHPS) reporting projected to save hundreds of person-hours per year. Previously, as Director of Workforce Analytics at KIPP SoCal Public Schools, I built the analytics function from the ground up, stood up a cloud data environment and a custom data-integration platform, and led tooling migrations that produced significant cost savings and improved data visibility.

Throughout my career, I have been trusted by leadership to build innovative solutions and influence decisions through compelling, data-driven narratives. I am passionate about continuous improvement and ethical data stewardship, and about ensuring my work empowers equity-centered outcomes. I hold an MS in Business Analytics from Georgia Tech, am a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and was an invited speaker at the 2025 SIOP Leading Edge Consortium on building executive trust in analytics.
