At Ahrefs, I build and maintain backend services for billing, SERP data, and chatbot tracking. I've migrated complex billing systems to Stripe and moved Elasticsearch-based SERP services to MySQL and ClickHouse, improving reliability, monitoring, and query performance while reducing costs by millions per year.
I work on continuously running, low-latency systems that let users query thousands of position metrics in seconds. I also optimized SQL databases to increase keyword-reporting capacity by 10x, prevented race conditions, and mentored an intern through a shipped dashboard that accelerated backend debugging.
Previously, I built recoverable compliance services in Go at Credit Suisse, long-running Java test services at ByteDance, and multi-threaded Python and C++ backends for streaming analytics at BeLive Technology. My research on Extract Method refactoring for Rust was published at OOPSLA 2023.
