At The University of Edinburgh, I supported practical development in circuit design, robotics, and automation for more than 200 students. I diagnosed the T’Rex Robot Car, recovering its firmware and Bluetooth functionality by analysing datasheets and debugging damaged hardware.
I reverse-engineered the Optobot PCB through schematic capture and PCB layout design, generating a Gerber file for manufacturing prototypes. I also evaluated rechargeable LiPo batteries and documented the findings to improve health and safety practices.
As an Electronics Technician at Heriot-Watt University, I designed and fabricated prototype circuits using PCB milling machines and prepared a Bill of Materials for surface-mount soldering. I repaired 3D printers and tested circuits with multimeters and oscilloscopes.
At Micropack Engineering Ltd, I conducted integrated fire testing to validate firmware functionality with industrial flame detectors. I also optimised PCB designs and 3D-printed enclosures to validate flame detector performance.
