I have 15+ years of experience spanning senior IT leadership and operational management, including Director of Technical Operations and CTO-level roles during the early 2000s tech boom. After a decade away from full-time IT, I’m deliberately stepping back into hands-on technical work at a lower level and genuinely looking forward to it.

I keep my skills sharp through home-lab tinkering, freelance consulting, and practical use of modern tools such as Ansible, Docker, Proxmox, and container orchestration. I’m fluent in scripting and systems languages including Python, Bash, Perl and TCL, and have working exposure to C++, .NET, and C#.

I’ve led cross-functional teams as a Professional Services Manager and CTO, delivering complex infrastructure rollouts across HPC, NAS, and clustered storage, and I translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders with calm under pressure. I apply Agile, Lean and continuous improvement methods to improve delivery and operational reliability.

My memorable work includes customer deployments and clustered storage builds at Xinit Systems, Senior Unix Engineer duties in a Tier 4 NOC for REDNET (UK Business ISP), and recent freelance infrastructure modernisation projects using custom Ansible playbooks, Proxmox VM orchestration, and Docker/Kubernetes where appropriate. From enterprise NAS appliances to core ISP infrastructure, I’ve focused on maintainable, resilient solutions.

I’m not chasing titles; I want to join an inclusive, supportive, collaborative team where I can contribute meaningfully, mentor when helpful, and re-engage with the hands-on infrastructure work I enjoy. I bring pragmatic problem solving, operational maturity, and a readiness to re-learn and adapt as needed.
