Sarah Kautzor
@sarahkautzor
Psychology & Addiction Studies student passionate about mental health, behavioral science, and making a meaningful impact through my work.
What I'm looking for
I’m an undergraduate student double majoring in Psychology and Addiction Studies at the University of North Texas. My interests include trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, and holistic psychiatric rehabilitation, especially through community-based recovery models for people with co-occurring mental health conditions or barriers to treatment.
In my Texas Department of Family Services (DFPS) role as a Supplemental Caregiver / Youth Support Staff, I provided emotional support and supervision for youth in state care. I supported young people through periods of crisis, distress, and major life transitions by using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices.
As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with Butterfly Effects, LLC., I built rapport with clients and families to reinforce skill development and coping strategies. I utilized behavioral intervention plans and positive reinforcement programs to encourage communication and behavioral skill progression, and I collected and charted behavioral data to track treatment progress underneath BCBA supervision.
I bring a consistent, safety-first approach grounded in trauma-informed care and evidence-based practice. My trainings include Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care, and I’m committed to continuing to support clients effectively while growing my impact in crisis intervention and psychiatric rehabilitation.
