At Shanta Mining Co. Ltd.’s New Luika Gold Mine, I collected water samples from boreholes, mine pits, storage dams, and the Saza and Luika rivers, and took water level and flow meter readings.
I ran 24-hour dust and gas monitoring with DustTrak and MultiRAE instruments, assisted with stack emission monitoring, and submitted samples to accredited laboratories. I also prepared Issue-Based Risk Assessments for site water management and air quality monitoring ahead of the forecast El Niño.
During my field training with NEMC - National Environment Management Council, I participated as a student in Technical Advisory Committee activities reviewing a proposed mining project. I gained exposure to environmental impact assessment studies, audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at Ardhi University (ARU), with interests in environmental management, mining operations, water quality, pollution control, and sustainable development.
