Samantha Alarcon

I am an accounting professional based in Montreal, transitioning from a successful 10+ year career in the arts, animation, and design industries. Recently, I completed a Diploma in Accounting at Dawson College, where I gained hands-on experience through an internship with the Finance and Treasury Department at Kirkland City Hall. My responsibilities included full-cycle government accounting and corporate accounting, where I utilized accounting software and interacted directly with resident taxpayers.

During my internship, I assisted the Accounts Payable Technician by entering purchase order invoices and financial transactions into accounting software, maintaining vendor profiles, and supporting the preparation of the city’s budget presentation. I have developed expertise in general ledger management, journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations. I am currently seeking a position as a Bookkeeping or Accounting Technician to apply my skills and continue my professional development in financial management.
