Salam Al Yahya

Software Engineer Team Lead with close to 10 years of experience, most of it in Canada working on enterprise and product-facing systems. I spent six years at Guestlogix in Toronto where I led a small team building e-commerce platforms for airlines. My thing was founding new projects from zero — figuring out what needs to exist, picking the right stack, setting up the architecture, and shipping it. Some highlights: I built the airline industry's first BLE-enabled offline ordering system in Flutter, created an embeddable Vue web components system for airline storefronts, and rebuilt our entire rendering layer with Nuxt SSR (800% performance improvement, Lighthouse went from ~10% to ~90%).

Before that I consulted at Avanade for RBC Capital Markets and TD Bank — React/TypeScript platforms, enterprise auth systems, the whole nine yards. I also worked at Saudi Aramco earlier in my career building GIS tools.

My core stack is JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue/Nuxt, Node.js, and Flutter. I'm big on clean architecture that scales with growing teams, and I love experimenting with new tech to find better solutions. Currently building Artiva, an offline-capable CRM for Saudi Arabia's SME market, using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Cursor.

Outside of engineering I'm into filmmaking and photography — I travel a lot and make content for my YouTube channel. Originally from Saudi Arabia, studied Software Engineering at Western University in Ontario, spent 9 years working in Canada.
