Sahadeep Thapa

I’m a physical geography and hydrology-focused researcher with a Civil Engineering foundation and advanced training in river hydrology and climate change. My work bridges field measurements and modeling, translating hydrological signals into insights that support water availability and risk understanding.

I’ve worked as a civil engineer in water resources and later as a research consultant, measuring river parameters (discharge, flow velocity, river depth, and cross sections) across major sub-basins using a Sontek River surveyor system. I also apply hydrological modeling and geospatial tools—using HEC-HMS, VIC, J2000, and SPHY—while publishing peer-reviewed research on third-pole water availability, snow cover dynamics, and climate-driven vulnerability.
