I’m a Principal iOS Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in mobile technology, spanning software engineering, technical leadership, product development, and business strategy. I enjoy turning complex ideas into intuitive products and working across engineering, design, and business teams to bring them to market.
At Basic.Space, I architected and developed the consumer-facing iOS app from the ground up, helped deliver its launch and ongoing updates, and led and mentored developers. My work includes defining scalable architecture, collaborating with backend engineers on API integration, reviewing code, and translating product requirements into reliable app experiences.
Previously, I worked with Airbnb on accessibility improvements across its Host and Guest platforms and on aligning existing code with the platform’s architecture and dependency structure. Through my consulting business, I’ve contributed to products for GEICO, Guardian Insurance, Etsy, Match.com, and other companies. These projects have included building an internal telematics SDK, leading distributed iOS teams, improving app accessibility, and developing applications from concept through launch.
My experience also extends to emerging mobile technologies. I’ve worked with ARKit for property scanning and floor plan creation, integrated computer vision and OCR using TensorFlow, Core ML, and Apple’s Vision framework, and built backend services alongside mobile applications. I’m particularly interested in practical uses of AI and augmented reality that make products more useful and easier to use.
Earlier in my career, I held engineering, technical marketing, and product leadership roles in the semiconductor industry. I built and managed a seven-person engineering team, helped grow an embedded-products customer base from over $100 million to $450 million in revenue, and drove initiatives that tripled design wins in APAC markets. This background helps me connect technical decisions with customer needs and business outcomes.
I hold an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M. I’m interested in opportunities where I can stay close to the code while shaping architecture, mentoring engineers, and influencing product direction. I’m especially drawn to teams building thoughtful mobile experiences that solve meaningful problems.
