Robert Vava
@robertvava
Cross-disciplinary ML engineer building scalable ML systems and products.
What I'm looking for
I am a cross-disciplinary machine learning engineer with experience spanning research, product engineering, and MLOps. I specialize in end-to-end design and deployment of ML systems, from embedded edge models to cloud data pipelines.
At Asothia I helped build frontend and backend infrastructure as a founding engineer, developed web-scraping agents with 92% accuracy, and implemented matching algorithms using vector databases, LLMs, and graph techniques. In research roles I optimized NoSQL systems for neuronal data, boosted neuron tracking accuracy by 18% using a modified transformer in PyTorch, and served as main codebase and data manager for multi-person teams.
I have delivered applied ML and software solutions across industry and government, including embedded traffic analysis with Azure IoT, object detection on edge devices, and a fundraising ML system that improved ROI by 13x. I also taught and mentored apprentices, delivering data analyst and software engineering programs.
I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Systems and contribute to open source projects and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of neurotechnology, computer vision, and LLMs.
