What I'm looking for

I seek a role that values storytelling and community engagement, fostering inclusive dialogue and creativity.

I am a writer and podcast producer dedicated to exploring the intersections of storytelling, culture, and lived experience. My background in narrative journalism and audio production drives my commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and crafting immersive, emotionally resonant stories. Whether behind the pen or the mic, I am fueled by curiosity, deep listening, and a belief in the transformative power of narrative.

As a Black Studies Professor at Portland State University, I have successfully created opportunities for students to engage with critical issues in Black culture and history, resulting in significant increases in community participation and student satisfaction. My role as the Founder and Creative Director of Loose Cornrows Digital Magazine allowed me to guide the brand’s vision and curate collections that blend culture and community. I have also produced engaging podcast episodes that emphasize research-driven storytelling, fostering a sense of community and belonging among listeners.
