I began learning music in childhood with my maternal grandfather, Late Pt. Hanuman Prasad Mishra, and my maternal uncles, Pt. Rajan and Pt. Sajan Mishra. I later trained in tabla with Late Pt. Mannu Lal Mishra and performed with my uncles on concert tours across India and abroad.
My performances have included All India Radio, Doordarshan, major music festivals, and international tours. Since 1987, I’ve contributed to SPIC MACAY through lecture-demonstrations in major cities across India, sharing the music and traditions of the Banaras Gharana.
