@rachelkohlmeier
Registered nurse and GI department leader, focused on patient safety, sedation care, and endoscopy excellence.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Registered Nurse who provides care for patients undergoing endoscopy and pain management procedures, with a strong emphasis on patient assessment and intervention when complications arise. I administer and maintain sedation by physician order and coordinate care in the GI and pain management setting.
In my leadership role (Registered Nurse Lead, Surgical Services—GI Department), I helped keep the department running every day by managing the schedule, supporting patient safety and overall well-being, and developing solutions to correct issues. I also educated team members, investigated concerns, and contributed to shared governance through committee work and participation.
My background includes prior work as a Certified Surgical Technologist, where I prepared endoscopy fields and carts, disinfected and sterilized endoscopes, maneuvered endoscopes, and assisted with biopsy removal and preparation for lab. I bring credentials including RN credentialing from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, BLS/ACLS certification, and Certified Surgical Technologist certification, along with experience as a department preceptor.
