At athenahealth, I led 0→1 UX for Ambient Notes, a clinical AI documentation product that drafts visit notes during encounters. It rolled out to 3K+ providers across 1M+ patient encounters and returned roughly 60K clinician hours through 84–90% AI section acceptance.
I design human-AI workflows that keep people in control. For Ambient Notes and AI-assisted medical coding, I created review, approval, edit, override, and error-recovery patterns so AI-generated recommendations were verified before reaching the chart.
I also turned athenaText’s maintenance backlog into a roadmap for 203K+ monthly users, shipping search, AI-suggested replies, and unread states. The work improved search satisfaction from 2.2 to 4.4 and saved $100K+ in support load.
Across enterprise workflows, I’ve redesigned file management, mapped 10+ end-to-end journeys, and built a 40+ component interaction library used by three product teams. I run cross-functional discovery, establish design critiques, and mentor junior designers.
