I developed LungNet-ViT, a multistage model combining CNN backbones with a Vision Transformer for chest X-ray classification. InceptionV3 with ViT achieved 96.88% validation accuracy on the imbalanced dataset, and I used Grad-CAM to show which image regions informed predictions.
In my multimodal COVID-19 research, I combined Grey Wolf Optimization, Particle Swarm Optimization, a Vision Transformer and an MLP for severity classification on chest X-ray and CT data. My work also includes infection-severity quantification from segmentation masks, two first-author journal papers, a conference paper and a patent application; I’ve taught undergraduate courses and developed online modules at Anna University.
