Om Patel

I’m a Computer Engineering Technology student at NAIT with hands-on experience in software development, testing, backend support, database work, and technical documentation. I enjoy troubleshooting until systems run cleanly, and I like working in team environments where reliability and delivery matter.

In an 18-month Software Developer internship at Deep IT Solutions, I contributed to application reliability and backend integration using Python and Java within an Agile team. I worked across multiple release cycles, helping deliver assigned sprint tasks on schedule through standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

I diagnosed and resolved performance and functional bugs by collaborating with senior developers on root-cause analysis. I built and maintained backend/database integration logic connecting application layers to SQL Server, and I wrote and maintained technical documentation such as design notes, test cases, and runbooks. I also executed manual and automated test cases to catch defects before production.

Beyond day-to-day development, I’ve gained working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Azure/Entra ID, and VMware. Through my coursework, I’m actively building toward embedded systems and firmware development, and I’m currently seeking co-op and entry-level opportunities in software development, embedded systems, backend development, QA/testing, or technical support.
