What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can apply AP-standard copyediting to improve clarity and accuracy, collaborate with a strong team, and contribute to teaching/communication outcomes through thoughtful planning and continuous improvement.

I’m a copy editor who brings strong grammar and syntax skills as both a writer and editor, with a close focus on grammatical, stylistic, and journalistic standards expected for print. I’ve edited submitted articles to ensure quality, clarity, and consistency—particularly in AP Style.

In my newsroom role at the Daily Helmsman Newspaper (University of Memphis), I coordinated with editors and reporters to assign stories and keep work on schedule. I reviewed and edited articles to align with newsroom expectations, and I was promoted from Copy Editor to Managing Editor.

Outside of editing, I also teach English to international students—planning lessons, adapting to varied learning styles, and monitoring progress to meet students’ needs. I prepare learners for Cambridge English Qualification exams (including B2 First and C1 Advanced) and bring the same attention to detail, organization, and adaptability into every project.
