I am an experienced clinical nurse, perioperative nurse educator, and health education specialist with over 25 years of clinical, teaching, research, and healthcare leadership experience.
In my current role as Deputy Director of Clinical Nursing and Head of Operating Theatres at University College Hospital, Ibadan (August 2025–Present), I lead perioperative practice with a strong focus on patient safety, infection prevention and control, and quality improvement. I also serve as a Clinical Nurse at UCH (2000–Present) and continue to support theatre and community ophthalmology through the Community Ophthalmology and Eye Outreach Programme (2018–Present).
I bring a teaching and mentorship focus through my work as a Visiting Lecturer at the School of Perioperative Nursing (2018–Present). I teach perioperative nursing courses, provide clinical supervision, and support assessment and evaluation of student nurses, while mentoring perioperative nursing trainees and contributing to curriculum implementation and academic activities.
Through research, academic writing, and healthcare innovation, I advance evidence-based nursing practice and professional development. My technical foundation spans perioperative nursing, ophthalmic nursing, surgical instrumentation, research methodology, and healthcare administration, complemented by WHO Infection Prevention and Control courses and ongoing interest in patient safety, nurse-led education interventions, and community-based healthcare outreach.
