What I'm looking for

I'm seeking a remote role with an SME or owner-managed business where finance supports real commercial decisions, not only transaction processing. I'm particularly interested in finance, management accounting, financial control, or finance and operations, with practical experience valued.

In a family steel construction and fabrication business, I took on growing responsibility for projects and commercial decisions, and was running the business independently from 2012.

I moved the business from manual records into accounting software and took responsibility for bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, reconciliations, cash flow, and financial reporting.

Working inside an operating SME taught me to connect the accounts with the work on the ground. I look at how labour, purchasing, quoting, and project control affect margins, and how debtors, stock, and payment timing affect cash flow.

Alongside the construction business, I continue to manage commercial and residential property interests, including rental income, operating costs, tenants, cash flow, and financial administration.
