What I'm looking for

I’m looking for remote-friendly backend work where I can own features end to end—designing REST APIs, integrating third parties, and improving performance—while mentoring others and strengthening CI/CD and automated testing.

I’m a Senior Backend Engineer with 6+ years building and scaling production PHP applications, primarily in the Moodle and Totara learning-platform ecosystem, with additional Node.js and TypeScript services.

I focus on RESTful API design and reliable third-party integrations, including Salesforce, while keeping services performant through query optimisation and database indexing.

In my current role, I reduced production database query load by 93% by redesigning data access and adding indexing, improving stability under peak traffic. I also lead backend development end to end and mentor others through code review.

I strengthen delivery quality with automated testing (PHPUnit) and CI/CD pipelines, containerising services with Docker in an Agile environment.
