Miguel Torres Landaburu

At Universidad Europea - Grupo de Investigación NANO UEM, I designed and optimized hydrogels made from biocompatible polymers and globular proteins. I characterized their mechanical, rheological, and swelling properties, and collaborated with ICMM-CSIC on uniaxial compression tests.

I also designed molds and parts in SolidWorks for the laboratory’s experimental setup. In the Grupo de Investigación NanoUEM, I contributed to automating the mechanical and structural characterization of biomaterials with Python data pipelines.

My mechanical design projects include a ski-touring adapter with FOS>2.1 and more than 2M cycles without failure, as well as TPU 95A grip handles for JOËLETTE chairs. I’ve used FEA to assess structural integrity and fatigue life against standards including ISO 5355/9462 and ISO 14801.

I’m currently redirecting my career toward mechanical design and medical device validation, strengthening my GD&T and FEA skills with SolidWorks and Ansys while reviewing design and validation standards. I’m looking to apply this experience in medical device design, simulation, and verification.
